Countless working days have passed without any updates at the website.. So here is some new info:
our 2nd studio, Astia-studio B, is now officially opened. We did a huge renovation to the control room and the facility is now a great sounding, low-cost recording facility. other revations are almost finished. It took way longer than we could have imagined but it is all definitely worth it. The newly renovated "cottage" accommodation looks awesome. It is truly an inspiration to all our clients.
Recently we have had problems with our e-mail so please send your mail also to astiastudio (at) hotmail (dot) com to make sure we will recieve your mail. We are sorry about the problems with e-mail.

We just returned from Wacken with Norther. The show and parties were great. Now are starting a 6 week session together to record their forth coming album.More info from their website at Norther.net

Whoa. Sorry about the long delay with updates. Our renovation at the accommodation facilities has been delayed a lot. It started last September and now we are finally close to complete the "upstairs". First 3 months I worked 7 days a week with Dizzy, WideScreenMode and William(RUS). Cool new equipment has again arrived to studio to improve our sound. We also decided to make even bigger renovation to downstairs and also to the outside yard. They should be completed by the end of 2007.
Our 2nd studio rent agreement ends this autumn. We are looking for new engineer/producers to join the Astia-studio crew. Please feel free to e-mail me.

Last weekend we had my 30th birthday celebration at the studio with many bands playing live. All went well and everybody is still alive. Thanks to all for a great party. The accomodation facilities will have the renovation starting 11th of September and it should take 3 months to complete. The place is going to look great.

Some time has passed without any news. Been working 7 days a week. Recently finished the new Smak album which is an awesome album. Also finished producing, mixing and recording the new single for Dizzy called "Sick Of You". Mixed an album for Republic Of Desire and this morning we got 2 new Norther songs mixed for a forth coming finnish movie V2. In September we are starting a huge renovation for the accommodation rooms. The upstairs will be closed for 3 months to complete the new look for our apartments. Now back to mixing.. Rok on!

Just came back from tour with Norther. We did succesfull shows in Tokyo, Japan and TaiPei, Taiwan. Shows were great and whiskey was good as always. I also mixed Private Line at Tokyo. Thanks to all participants for a great time.

Been very busy with the new Tacere album which was mastered at Chartmakers with Svante Forsbäck a few days ago. The album rocks. Now we are continuing the Dizzy session which should be finished by the end of this month. I will go on the road with Norter for some live shows in Japan & Taiwan after the Dizzy session. Today we took some cool photos of the renovated A-studio control room with photographer Jani Saikko. Will put some of them to this site within weeks. Now back to rockin´ with Dizzy..

We sent many weeks ago four TL Audio VTC channel stripes to England by TNT to replace the broken parts. 3 days ago we got a message from TNT that they had lost the parts and they were delivered to Germany instead. After weeks of searching TNT Finland could not find our missing packets and told us they would never be found. Now we are filing a complaing about the company since the last time we used TNT´s services (in the late 90´s when sending a master DAT-tape to England) they lost the package too. So.. 2 sent packages and both missing. Luckily the first one was found after 4-6 weeks and finally was delivered to destination. Unfortunately this time we were not as lucky. TNT is trying to get away from this by saying that they will only cover up 20EUR / kilo of the lost material altough they are several thousands of Euros worth. I ask everybody reading this not to use TNT´s services since they are totally a NON-RELIABLE company!!!! One time would be okay, since everybody makes mistakes, but when it happens to You twice it is a bit too much. I peraonally will do my best to let people know how badly TNT Finland has done their job for us and I recommend everybody not to use TNT´s services ever again!!!! Sincerely, Anssi Kippo.

Winter vacation is over and all batteries are charged again. The A-studio control room renovation is also finished and the room looks and sounds absolutely great. There are natural materials (wood and stone) and the acoustics were improved so that it doesn´t matter where You sit in the room, it sounds exactly the same. I try to get pics of the new control room here by the end of this month.

Just finished the first mixing session with the new console (a new single for FreakThrone) and the results rock big time. I could not be happier with the new desk. Today I will continue mixing a new single for Dizzy. I totally love the automation and the user interface of the DXB200.

The new Mackie DXB200 desk has arrived. Installed all three UAD-1 cards. Still waiting for all the sound cards to arrive but meanwhile we are connecting the desk to our A-studio and testing it out. The first mixing session with it should start on monday 16th of January. So far things sound & look fantastic :o)

The DXB200 desk is on its way from Germany to Finland. Hopefully getting it up and running during January. It will be used for mixing only and it is loaded with 3 UAD-1 effect cards.

Yesterday a custom Argosy Console for Mackie Digital X Bus arrived and it was installed to our A-studio. Within a few weeks we should get a brand new Mackie Digital X Bus desk including UAD-1 and TC PowerCore mkII. Also the A-studio control room upgrading is scheduled for Feb - Mar 2006.

We got some cool equipment again: a brand new G5 dual 2.75GHz, Universal Audio LA2A, Universal Audio 1176 + some other compressors and effect processors.

Some time has passed since the last news but here is some: finnish prodigy band, Smak, is now #1 in MTV´s UpNorth & also #1 at Yle1 Nordisk Videolist. Astia-studios congratulate the band and their label. The renovation is starting to look very good. We now have 2nd loung and band bedroom totally renoved and at the moment everything should be finished by the end of 2005.

We purchased a new mixing console to our A-studio. Now the first TL Audio´s VTC valve mixing console in Finland is our new main desk. Also bought a TLA C-1 valve compressor and an Ivory 5051 valve mic pre amp with eq & compressor. Also making big preparations for our 10-year anniversiry on January 2005.

Updated to Mac OSX 10.2.8 and DigitalPerformer 4.12. Also bought 2 x AKG414 microphones & Motu 2408 mkIII. We are almost done with our new ventilation system. It is the first one in Finland to keep temperature, moisture, air pressure and carbon oxide on precisely adjusted level.

The biggest of all greetings goes to mr. Klaus Ala-Aho and mr. Esko Moisio for their totally awesome work. A discussion forum will open in a few days, and Finnish version of the pages is on its way.
